Bribery & Corruption Policy

R C Setchfield Ltd is committed to conducting business fairly, ethically and within the law. We operate our business with total transparency and have a zero tolerance for money laundering, bribery and corruption or other unethical behaviour in any of dealings or relationships with our suppliers, customers and staff.

Anti-Bribery and Corruption

The Bribery Act 2010 (“Act”) was given Royal Assent in April 2010 and came into force on 1 July 2011. It was introduced to update and enhance UK law on bribery, including foreign bribery.

Bribery is defined as the offer or the acceptance of a financial or other form of benefit intended to encourage or influence the recipient of the benefit to act improperly or unfairly in the award of business or in the execution of their duties.

Corruption is a form of dishonest or unethical conduct by a person entrusted with a position of authority, often to acquire personal benefit.  Corruption may involve many activities such as bribery, extortion, fraud, deception or dishonesty, cartels abuse of power, theft and money laundering.

R C Setchfield have a zero-tolerance policy to any bribery & corruption and have implemented controls such as:

  • Checks on all suppliers, agents and customers with whom we have a business relationship;
  • Gifts & Hospitality – prohibit our staff, or any third party acting on our behalf, accepting cash or cash-convertible gifts, or offer any payment, favour or inducement, which might improperly influence an official transaction.

Facilitation Payments – (also known as ‘grease payments’) – are prohibited and any requests for them must be declined and immediately reported to R C Setchfield Ltd, Unit 10, Withambrook Ind Park, Londonthorpe Road, Grantham, NG31 9ST.    Facilitation payments are: –

  • Typically, small payments made to secure or accelerate the performance of routine official tasks.
  • Political Donations and charitable Contributions – Prohibit political contributions on behalf of the company and restrict charitable contributions and sponsorships unless they are approved in accordance with our Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy.
